Observation 11768: Lichen P. Micheli

When: 2008-10-01

Collection location: Southeast Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

This reddish (yeah, I know, it looks pink in the photos, but on the tree it sure looked red to me)lichen is rather striking, and I had to look twice to make sure of what I was seeing. Looking thru my camera’s viewfinder, the colors immediately fade from the actual fungus, so please consider that when trying to identify it. While there are other lichens in all photos, the one I was trying to capture is the red/pink one.
