Observation 11914: Bryophyta

When: 2008-10-02

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Lichen is very long, pendant, with tiny green bracts/extensions along its length. Looks like long algal threads sometimes seen in warm water. This lichen, however, drapes Western hemlock, making it look like a scraggly green man wearing a disguise.
