Observation 12112: Lichen P. Micheli

When: 2008-10-05

Collection location: Southeast Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Notes:
Tiny microlichen on bark knob. Field of focus for the knob is about 1/2 inch across. Lichen is mostly gray, with irregular rounded ridges, similar to a brain. This was extremely difficult to photograph. Lens had to be nearly next to it to focus, and the slightest movement would make the lichen go out of focus. Hope I got enough detail for this to be recognized.
