When: 2008-10-11

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Rather distinctive lichen, pale sea-green with white edges, crustose to minutely elevated, with 1-1.5 inch long grayish-green projectile extensions, having scurvy white scales and at least one bright red edged in black cup on it (see top-left of first photo). Growing on a well-rotted older Western hemlock stump, bark completely gone. Didn’t notice the bright red cup on the extension until after I got home and looked at my photos, Jason.
