Observation 12719: Suillus luteus (L.) Roussel

When: 2008-10-16

Collection location: Cape Lookout State Park, Tillamook Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

The only thing unlike Suillus luteus of this rather large specimen is that it lacks a noticeable annulus; however a portion of the annulus is still adhering to the rim of the cap, if you look closely. Cap is slimy like a Suillus, stalk has the dark brown dots of a Suillus, and the stalk near the pores is yellow, like Suillus luteus.
