This is what members of the Oregon Mycological Society have been calling Tricholoma flavovirens for some time. But in the last few years, there has been a discussion concerning whether it is a single species or a complex of species. While the gills are generally some gradation of yellow, some gills are lemon yellow, and others yellow-orange. Possibly other gradations exist. There has also been discussion in Mushroom, The Journal concerning the edibility of this species, and whether that edibility varies from Europe to North America. This specimen was found near the edge of a sand dune south of Cape Lookout.
