Recognized by sight: Pileus 3.5 cm broad, convex, dry, velutinous, dark brown. Flesh yellow cyanescent. Tubes adnexed, near chrome yellow (3A6), bluing when bruised, with pores concolorous and bluing. Stipe 8 × 1 cm, dry, ±equal, curved at base, subpruinose above, otherwise striate fibrillose, bright yellow at apex, dull pinkish brown to dull brownish red to dull red below, sordid brownish yellow at base, with interior yellow to dull yellow and cyanescent, brownish yellow in the base.
