Observation 132143: Deconica xeroderma (Huijsman) Noordel.

When: 2013-04-06

Collection location: Boulder Creek, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

Specimen available

Found in grass.

Cheilocystidia fusoid-wavy, no pleurocystidia, spores smooth, ellisoid, grey-brown with germ pore. Apr. spore size is 7.5 × 4 um.

With the spore size, habitat of grass, and the dark gills, it seems that Deconica xeroderma is the best id. using Noodeloos Strophariaceae.
