I’m making the id on this from the long-ish stipe, the darker brown colors on the cap, and the veil remnants on the edge of the margin. But I didn’t collect these, made enough other collections for the day, and not sure I wanted to get into Psathyrella. But the other obs. there, it would be good to try and look at the local sequence there, and see how it compared with the sequences in the paper, maybe. I’ll try and read through the paper later, at first glace, it was interesting enough to see how closely related Coprinopsis/Coprinellus/Parasola/Psathyrella really are.

Psathyrella/Coprinopsis marcescibilis? You can see an example of that species in observation 129954, are they even separate species? Check out the comment I left on the P. longipes name page for my reasoning, if I understand it correctly several other species in that group have already been made synonyms with C. marcescibilis. Also, observation 122534 was apparently identified with DNA and here is the article for the new name – http://bit.ly/11u9DGp
