Found this in my backyard in the lawn. I’m interested to know if it’s safe for dogs to eat.

Recognized by sight: toxicity unknown…nobody eats them. does your lawn have oak trees at the border? amanita mushrooms can be deadly, and grow with coast live oak.

Recognized by sight: Technically I believe Debbie intended Collybia sensu lato rather than the current concept of that genus. Gymnopus sp. is a better name to apply in this case. However, I’d need to see the underside to be sure and knowing what trees are in the area would be a big help.

Regardless of the naming and the precise species, this looks very unlikely to be problem for your puppy.
