found in a mixed conifer coastal forest high above sea level. Could be a plant and not a fungi, but these had mycellium around the base of the very deep stem. No smell, and very firm.

don’t think Sarcodes occurs there, and the color is too pink (rather than red). Also the shape is more globose.
