Notes:
This is a large and robust Amanita with white volval patches on the cap and dark red cap, white stalk, and white cup at the base of the stalk. Typically mycorrhizal with Sitka spruce in sandy soils in this area. This specimen may not look it, but the button is at least 3 inches across, and the fully-opened cap can reach over a foot across.
