Observation 13550: Scleroderma areolatum Ehrenb.

When: 2008-11-04

Collection location: Southeast Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Notes:
Usually find this while the peridium still has golden-brown highlights to it. This one looks like it has a greenish parasite colonizing it (Hypomyces?). Also, the cap is cracked very regularly in parallel lines, which I have not seen in S. areolatum before.
