But this thing continues to grow on that tree, next time I’m there I’ll collect a sample and get micro, etc.

to the left of the exudating one in the first image does appear to be the same, and that one has what looks like perithecia, which would make this an ascomycete. If so, this would be the first exudating Sordariomycete I’ve seen outside of Xylaria globosa. Do you have any more photos/info on this? Micro?
