Have you ever found any down here in South FL?

Many species (of any genus) I find are often different hues/colors than their same species in other states… but out of all the purple Russula here in FL, especially south FL, R. mariae fits this the best.

I haven’t seen R. mariae with such a vinaceous pileus before and the pruinose bloom seems to be sparse (if there at all). Peck mentions that a drop of water on the pruinose cap will yield a color change. Might be worth a try?
