There is an ephemeral yellow zone toward the base of the stipe on these guys. I’ll check them out under UV light as well and post pics.

It would be cool to see more data from this.
Were there any conspicuous yellow bands at the base of the stipe?
Most of the ones I found around Shasta that I called C. flavobasalis lost that trait fairly quickly.
