Recognized by sight: There are two common western species, G. glutinosus and G. oregonensis, which I find hard to tell apart reliably. Both of these usually have some yellow at the base of the stalk. I mention this because this one doesn’t seem to have that feature, but it’s hard to tell. G. smithii lacks yellow in the stipe.
