Found under oak, after good rain storm. Has faint enjoyable scent. Stains red, light tan spore print.

Used references: Arora, Mushrooms Demystified, under Lepiota rachodes, p297-8. “STALK: …interior usually staining bright orange or saffron and then reddish to dark brown when cut.” Usually has patches on cap, but I have found it in Oregon after drying particularly fast with almost no patches.
