Thank you for your response. I am pretty sure that the ID checks out, but there are 2-3 look-alikes that need to be eliminated. Ammonia on cap should give a mahogany-red color, while the other species instantly turn green.

I hope the NEMF was success. I am glad you met NJMA folks. Terri & Patricia are good friends of mine.

I can’t answer that as I don’t know what tests if any the mycologists performed in the process of ID ing the mushrooms at NEMF. During the times I was in the exhibition room they appeared to confer with one another but there were microscopes, computers and possibly chemicals in a separate room.

I met some of your fellow NJ people—Terri, Patricia, Dorothy, Rhoda—a great group.
