Thank you very much for the cross-section photograph. It is very clear where the ends of the gills fit into the developing volva. I was wondering if the lower stipe would split inside the volva, but it clearly hadn’t done so at the point at which you sectioned the fruiting body.

If it is not inconvenient, I’d be very interested in dried material from this observation.
