Found bout 18 inches up on a chestnut Oak in a mossy area.
It appears to be a Crain fly of some sort possible a species of Tipula. This fly landed or crawled bout 18 inches up into a mossy are and just position it self as if at rest and this Fungi formed.
It is a fuzzy cottony growth protruding throughout all cracks and segments.
