Recognized by sight: Ring seems a bit high on the stipe for velatipes, though. White patches generally seen on the cap sometimes wash away.

Based on chemical features: Apparently unique DNA neither that of multisquamosa nor velatipes. This entity has been wrongly ID’d as both of those species. This very nice set of photographs gives us a glimpse of the organism.
