Looks like Laetiporus sulphureus.

Sulphureus for the sulphur-yellow hymenium.

Identification of the log would have been proof of species: L. sulphureus grows only on hardwoods such as oak and maple. L. coniferoides grows only on softwoods such as fir, and possibly pine.
