Observation 14335: Agaricales sensu lato

When: 2008-11-17

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Notes:
Could be an extremely well-dried Lactarius based solely on the stipe. Cap flesh extremely thin, nearly rock-hard! Gills now dark brown (nearly black) as is the cap. Stipe 1.5 inches tall, with rusty red-brown stains from handling; otherwise the stipe was plump and I thought fresh.
