Observation 14536: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

When: 2008-11-23

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Smallish fungi still in button form. Appears to have a tawny yellow-brown cap, with white fibrils, especially near the edge of the cap; STIPE: mostly white, with some orange-brown, striate, twisted: looks like it had a hard time getting to the surface with all the wood present. I have collected this specimen, and will display it tomorrow at the Oregon Mycological Society November meeting.
