Growing in sand bank by side of the road under red pine, red spruce, white pine in mixed woods. Heavy rain overnight deposited sand on the FB. Cap 90 mm., bright yellow, broad brown umbo, no patches. Gills cream, close. Stem whitish, 150 mm. × 16 mm. midheight (12 apex, 20 at base), white and flocculent lower half, flushed with yellow upper half. No ring. Indistinct base. Bright yellow volval remanants on lower stem and in sand where excavated.
