Notes:
One collection at the base of a dead tree that had been bare, no bark, for quite a while. The other seen from the road at 35mph on a raised area that had a tree previously. Pretty sure this is gymnopilus. Any thoughts?

odor/smell

Hard to describe. Very slight fruit edge. Has a mushroom/astringent smell that is quite strong. Not as fruity as Omphalatus Illudens.
