Yunnan villagers unearth world’s largest edible mushroom

Yunnan villagers have unearthed the world’s largest edible mushroom, an 82.8 kg cluster standing 97 cm tall with a diameter of 138 cm, which allegedly took sixty-seven workers to excavate. The World Record Association confirmed its record status this past Sunday, after presumably running an ID to make sure it was indeed a mushroom and not the world’s largest dildo.

This isn’t the first monstrous mushroom to come out of Yunnan province, as last July Yunnan villagers dug up a world-record-contending 15kg specimen. Yunnan is home to 600 species of edible toadstools and accounts for 50 percent of China’s mushroom exports.
