Observation 14795: Xylaria hypoxylon group J.D. Rogers

Notes:
These little black things were growing from a vegetation covered log in a very damp area. The little white tipped things in the second photo were on an adjacent log. I suspect they are an earlier stage of the same species depicted in the first photo.
