Observation 147953: Agaricomycetes Doweld

Fruiting body collected around the trunk of Corymbia hybrid. They were noticed to appear for three consecutive years during rainy season (July and August). These were identified using 18s rDNA sequencing. The nucleotide sequences were submitted to Genbank, NCBI (Accession numbers: KF194356)

Estoy de acuerdo, Pestalotiopsis es un deuteromiceto microscopico, y forma acervulos apenas visibles a simple vista, con apariencia de manchas oscuras.
Ayudaria una imagen micro de los esporos de este hongo.

Pestalotiopsis is a Sordariomycete/Pyrenomycete genus of very small, endophytic, plant pathogenic fungi. What you have here is a fleshy Basidiomycete, either a stipitate stereoid or a polypore. I suspect your sequence may have become contaminated.
