Recognized by sight: I believe I misread the label on these or the label was misplaced. They do not look like C. croceus to me. Also I deleted the unrepresentative photo and added a new one.

like C. clandestinus (sensu CA) or C. cotoneus (which would be easy to misread as croceus)

Different cameras, not different mushrooms. I added another shot using the digital point and shoot camera with no flash, In this case the colors seem truer with the digital.
