Thanks Dimitar, for commenting on these Mushrooms, I am drying the boletes, in one spot of the park, these pops,It’s a BIG park, I have collected them going back 9 years, … I put them in my Food Dehydrator, then in a glass jar., I have NOT eaten them..ken..

There’s no perfect name for this one. But it is not B. appendiculatus.

Nobody knows what this is exactly. This groups needs to be restudied in California. B. appendiculatus it is not. Compare to European pictures on Google. I would apply B. regius s.l. to it. It has been said on several occasions that B. pseudoregius is a better name, but that hasn’t been sanctioned by any NA literature yet.

Boletus appendiculatus stains blue, not always.
Boletus amyloideus does not have a reticulate stem, this one has (visible in the excellent photo :-)

some version of Boletus appendiculatus?

I don’t think Boletus amyloideus fits these very well, that one is small, rare, and has a rose-red interior.

These are more like some version of Boletus appendiculatus.
