I care about how it’s called too.
I would like it to be called Rhodocybe aureicystidiata, because that keeps a monophyletic Rhodocybe and Clitopilus. Monophyletic genera mean that people using the names are closer to understanding the real evolutionary relationships between mushrooms.
I care about people understanding mushroom relationships.
I am sure that this particular fungus does not care how it is called. However we do! Pulk, please, don’t exhibit your knowledge by deprecating our synonym for your preferred ones. Stop this silly game, please! Adolf
