Notes:
In a group on a decaying hardwood. Key characters used to confirm species: Cap is about 7 cm broad and umbilicate. Surface is dark reddish brown and starting to slightly blacken. Flesh is tough, rigid, and thin. Pores are minute and white. Stalk is about 2 cm long and 1 cm thick, central, and black throughout and tough.
