check out the gill branching on your specimens. They branch reapeatedly; each branch to two branches of equal length. This is a key identifying feature for H. aurantiaca.

Hi Hobbes, I’m guessing your recent observations were not found in the snow today. The date should be the date you found the mushroom, at least to month. Thanks!
