Explanation of name problem

The observation is of Royoporus badius (Polyporus badius, Polyporus picipes); an illegitimate synonym of this is Polyporus durus (Timm) Kreisel. But the name that was first used on MO was Nigroporus durus (Jungh.) Murrill which is a totally different polypore based on Polyporus durus Jungh. — a legitimate name that preceded the combination by Kreisel.
