Observation 154361: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

Notes:
These were growing on the ground in mixed woods.
Caps were up to 6.0 cm across.
Spore print was a reddish brown.
Spores were ~ 6.7-8.1 X 4.8-5.3 microns and moderately rough.
These were growing “Hebeloma-like” (semi-open area and numerous single F/Bs).
However, several did have rusty cortina remnants on the cap edge and on the lower stipe. The stipe shape and whitish coating also suggested Cortinarius to me.
