about calling these “Galerina marginata” than I am about not calling them “Gymnopus.” Brown ring/ring-zone on stipe and growth on wood point toward Galerina or Pholiota. But the lined margins on the caps seem unusual for Pholiota. Kuehneromyces is a genus name which may apply, except the typical eastern North American autumnal species, K. mutabilis, most often occurs in clusters.
