But I could certainly understand not wanting to apply names to Entolomas.
After reading Largent’s massive 3-ring binder on the Entolomatoid Fungi of the Western United States and Alaska, smelling the nitrous odor and checking the habitat under live oak I’m convinced that Nathan is right. We are located at the upper end of the distribution for this mushroom as it is not reported as far north as Sonoma County, yet.
