Growing on an embankment with only the caps above ground, probably in association with Douglas fir. Caps slightly viscid,up to 13.0 cm broad, mixture of browns with some traces of violet on edges. Some violet on the stipe and on the hump of the basal bulb. Bulb usually tapering to a point. Spores approx. 7.7 9.0 X 4.0-6.1 microns and rough.
Some browning on the cap with KOH.
