it does look a litle fat down in the volva area, but i think that perhaps its just that tri-part volva! ;)
I am seeing red staining on the volva, top and bottom, and it was a youngish critter, despite getting beat-up in transit and by the rain.
I have done zero microscopy so far, but I do have a slide with spores and of course the dessicata.
certainly it’s one of the odd fat grisettes. any other ideas other than protecta?
I don’t see ochraceous stains on the volva? Is that a bulb I think I see at the stipe base. Has this critter submitted to a scope?
