… for Xerula hispida free to subadnexed gills have been described http://www2.cortland.edu/dotAsset/250557.pdf (page 126)

For further clarification: The gills have been white, the pink color might be misleading.

did you note the gill attachment?
they look like they might be free…
are there any species of Xerula/Hymenopellis with a free gill attachment?
