Observation 15983: Flammulina velutipes (Curtis) Singer

When: 2008-12-31

Collection location: Floodplain of Hocking River, Athens Co., Ohio, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dan Molter (shroomydan)

No specimen available

Notes:
Something had eaten most of this cluster, but a few frozen mushrooms remained. Note the reticulate gills in the first photo. This seems to be a common feature in mushrooms of many species when they grow in cold weather.

The past does not exist anymore, the future does not exist yet. The present is but an infinitesimal line between the past and the future; it has no duration. Time is an illusion.

The date is correct though, New Year’s Eve last year ;-)

Nice pix but please someone change the date. I don’t suppose you come from the future, do you?
