Observation 160831: “Discomycetes” Sacc.

Notes:
This cup fungi was growing on wood root. (Root appeared to be live.) Cap about 5mm. Single specimen.

that it’s not Lachnum virgineum, it has much too large disc and broad base for that.

Not even sure it’s a discomycete. There are some basidiomycetes that look similar – called cyphelloid fungi.
