Recognized by sight: found in mixed conifer forest <1 mile from ocean; stipe on the larger specimen 2 cm thick; cap 8 cm diam.; spore print yellow brown; gills a little darker than the spore print
Used references: MD – keys out in Cortinariaceae to Inocybe but doesn’t really fit any of the species descriptions

in addition there was no detectable odor, the margins of the cap split in age and the gill attachment is somewhat notched.
