this photo shows the most suggestive features for B. rex-veris in my opinion – the tomentose cap tetxture and color

Recognized by sight: matted-tomentose cap texture, becoming areolate, pink tones in cap, pore color seems fairly typical of that species, stipe shape seems slightly off for B. regineus that I see in the same area, spring fruiting. Will do more work to try and confirm what would be a first record for the county.

had two regions of double peaks, but a ~250 nucleotide portion of clean peaks in the middle of the sequence returns 99% identities with an Arora collection of B. rex-veris from El Dorado NF from 2012.
