Collection location: Swans Crossing State Forest, New South Wales, Australia [Click for map]
I found three of these in one area. They were fragile and located in a moist area with low level light. The weight of one cap appears to have caused the cap to split and peel down the stipe. I took several images (all similar to this) and did not get a spore print. The largest cap was about 40mm across and stood about the same in height.
At the time, I wrongfully thought that this fungi was common, but my reference states uncommon. I wish I had taken more varied images but did not do so and now am paying for it.
