This species has been reported to smell like goat moth larvae. Not much identification help for most mycologists. Another source says it smells like English leather.

Hmmm…ok i would understand a ‘perfumey’ smell.

Cedar didn’t come to my mind when I was trying to relate the smell to something I know, but it’s a subjective observation right? To me the smell reminded me of what it smelled like after my mom cleaned the kitchen growing up…I think she used bleach, but maybe she used some cleaning stuff with a hint of cedar…like pinesol or something haha…i don’t know. I’m still trying to get better at the smelling part of identification so I’m trying to be real about what the mushroom smell like to me. Then I can relate/match my smells with the commonly described smells.

Supposed to smell like cedar (perfumey)
