since there appears to be a continuum of yellow coloration on the stipe for both species. there is some yellow at the base, mostly covered by duff (see new photo).

this fb has a pink cap, not “gray or vinaceous-gray or brown for smithii,” MDM.

Pink caps in subroseus also show a continuum of color, from pale to dark.

The young gills are white not gray (see window thru torn veil).

It rotted and was tossed.
