try to tag every non-fungal observation by adding to the non-fungal species list, for whatever that´s worth.

disagree based on the criteria that images of this Genus have posted been here as “insects” a couple of times now. Having been watching MO for five or so years, I would say that the number of egg postings is very few in general, however the types of insect egg posting tends to be the same type, looking like a fungus of some sort to most eager mycophiles. If they were named the genus, MO users would be able to click the hyperlink, and see other similar postings, not so if insecta was posted.
Most MO users are really interested to see what they found, not if its NOT a fungus.

I’m not sure they should be used on MO, because it might lead people (like those who would assume these eggs are fungal) to just assume that’s a fungus name…? I think Insecta and Plantae are ok because they’re pretty suggestive of their meanings…
